Wanganui Community
Wanganui, a city on the banks of the Whanganui River (the longest navigable river in New Zealand), is found on the South Western side of the North Island of New Zealand. It lies between New Plymouth in the West and Wellington in the South.
As a provincial city with a population of 42636 (according to the 2006 Census), the city is rich with culture and history. On a clear day standing on one of the many hills in the city you can have a view of Mount Ruapehu, Mount Taranaki, the Whanganui River, Wanganui City and the Sea on the West Coast of the North Island.
It is within this community that you will find the Wanganui YMCA.
The Wanganui YMCA provides a range of services and programmes in the wider region, including the following areas : Taumaranui, Waimarino, Ruapehu district, Rangitikei district and Palmerston North.
