The Basement

The Wanganui YMCA has recently established “The Basement” as a Youth Centre at the former Brass Band Hall, 159 Wicksteed Street. This free facility provides a safe area where youth can “hang out” in a safe, drug and alcohol free environment.

The Basement provides the following : pool table, juke box, vending machines, television, couches, magazines and art supplies.

Opening Hours:
School Term hours

• 3.30 – 6.00pm Wednesday and Thursday
• 3.30 – 10.00pm Friday
• 12.00 – 4.00pm Saturday
• 1.00 – 4.00pm Sunday

Extended opening hours to be introduced during school holidays.
